Beautiful light, lovely face, and rather exotic costume make this an exceptional portrait.Erna Pielke (1896-1977) (nee Tomasso) was an opera singer. She studied at the Peabody Conservatory and performed at Constitution Hall as well as all over the U.S. and Europe. Erna Pielke was raised in Baltimore, MD, and was married to Oreste Tomasso, a violinist and conductor who worked on most of the Mario Lanza pictures.
