About This Image

Signed, dated and editioned on the mount recto. See: Conger, Edward Weston: Photographs, fig.879.In the spring of 1935 Edward Weston started a new business venture, which he called the "Edward Weston Print-of-the Month Club." Laid in to issues of Camera Craft magazine was a promotional piece explaining that, though prints by Weston typically cost $15 to $20, members of the club could purchase them for only $5 (or $60 for the year). Each month subscribers would automatically receive a new print. The total edition size for each photograph would not exceed forty (35 for the subscribers and 5 for the photographer). Unfortunately, Weston apparently received no more than 11 paid subscriptions. Thus, only 12 monthly prints were ever issued, and hence the prints are very rare.

Most U.S. domestic Fed Ex ground shipping (Media Mail for books) is free of charge except for larger and heavier items, or unless the buyer wants express shipping (email us your requests for the latter). International shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their local customs duties and taxes, which will be charged by Fed Ex, which will contact the client prior to delivery.
