Description:

New York: Simons and Schuster, 1952. Hardcover, Fine/No Jacket. Folio. Decorated paper covered boards by Henri Matisse.126 pages of photographs plus several pages of text and index. The spine shows signs of wear as usual but is still intact and solid. Caption booklet (12pp.) loosely inserted, as issued (it is often missing). Conceived and composed by Tériade (and simultaneously published in France by Éditions Verve); plates printed by Draeger Frères. The binding design, an elaborate and classic cut-out composition by Matisse, was made especially for the work. Interior is clean and unmarked. Boards a little darkened as usual, hinges slightly frayed, upper right corner of cover slightly dinged; dust jacket as usual missing (one fly page included), but still a very presentable copy of a very collectible book.

Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
