Description:
The size refers to each of the individual prints. The mount board is 15-1/2 x 20-1/4 inches, and both photos are mounted side by side on the recto. These are prints that were made outside of the normal H. de Fonteny edition, probably for Teynard himself or for an assistant, and hence very rare. They were the only known ethnographic images made by Teynard. Title in French in pencil on recto of mount. See: Howe, Felix Teynard, Calotypes of Egypt, p.72-73, pl.135; Howe & Sinsheimer, Excursions Along the Nile: The Photographic Discovery of Egypt, pl.59.
Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
