| Description: Marilyn in a flimsy slip and bra appears to be entranced by the music on the nearby record player. The Henrietta Award, which ironically resembles the Oscar that Monroe never won, and a picture of the Italian actress Eleonora Duse is on the lamp stand. Stamped with photographer's name on verso. Important and rare image of Monroe (not a portfolio image or print). It appears to be from around 1970 and printed by the photographer. Another early print of Marilyn by Halsman recently sold at a Christie's auction for $36,000. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges. |
