Description:

A wonderful and quirky group of photos relating to toy manufacturing in France, probably at the Diderot Technical School in Paris. The group came with three other larger prints of the Diderot School. Various sizes, but most around 5 x 7 inches or the reverse. Some are mounted on card and some are unmounted. Some have pencil and crayon inscriptions on the verso. The Diderot School housed 340 boys at this time. In 1873, the Diderot School in Paris (the name it actually took in 1880) was created with professors of general education and master craftsmen. It became one of the first successful technical schools. The Diderot School was immediately a model of its kind and eventually it became the Diderot College. Some other council schools soon developed similar proposals for young women. Photos are possibly by Jean R. Berthaud

Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
