Haunting image of early childhood. The children look overwhelmed by the shadowy doors (probably a church) behind them. Signed and inscribed on the verso in pencil by the photographer's daughter: "The vintage print by my father, Jaromir Funke (c.1920-29)." The image probably dates closer to 1920 than 1929. Provenance: daughter of photographer.
