| Description: Charles Albert d'Arnoux, who called himself Bertall, which is a close anagram of Albert, was a partner in a photography studio with Bayard in Paris during this period and could have taken this ambrotype image of Bayard, who has always been considered one of the inventors of the photographic process. While it came in half of an American-style leatherette case, the oval shape around indicates a French style passe-partout case was its original housing. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges. |
