A very unusual Japanese ambrotype that shows a Japanese Man in traditional clothing and holding a fan in one hand and another ambrotype of his portrait in Western-style clothing. Flowering bonzai is on ornate carved wooden table next to the sitter. Red stamp at top edge of closed kiri wood case, which is 5 x 3-13/16 inches.
