A wonderful collection of photographs illustrating the lyrics of the popular French song "La Seine" which won the Grand Prix de la Chanson Francaise in 1948. Each image is numbered and its title is a line or two from 'La Seine'. Chanu's modernist eye has captured Paris and its winding river from the sparkling light of dawn to work-a-day activities and finally the romantic evening calm. The album is accompanied by a copy of the song lyrics as well as a CD titled '1948 Les Chansons de cette annee-la...', featuring such vocalists as Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Pierre Dudan and with Jacqueline Francois singing 'La Seine'.
