Also stamped "Italien" on verso. Provenance: estate of Ludwig Windstosser. On Agfa-Brovira paper with hyphenated logo. Passes blacklight test. Windstosser was born in 1921 in Munich, Germany. He was one of the cofounders of the influential German group fotoforum. This group wanted to offer an alternative to postwar German photography, which had been marked by Nazi propaganda, by introducing a new language of form that used the vocabulary of the Neues Sehen movement of the 1920s. He produced several books, including "Das Stuttgart Buch", "Schwabisch Gmund", "Martin Knoller, Seine Kuppelfresken in Der Abteikirche Neresheim" and "Heilbronn". His work is included in "Schupmann Collection. Fotografie in Deutschland nach 1945". His photographs are held in a number of institutional collections, including Ruhrlandmuseum Essen, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
