Description:

A really fabulous early color image of two young girls in their very frilly and matching (but of different colors) dresses in front of a painted backdrop. The plate is perfectly exposed. There is date of 1931 on the cardboard passe-partout, but I doubt it is the date of the photograph, which is more likely before 1910 for a number of reasons, including the fact that in 1911 and 1928 the company name was changed. In "A. Lumiere & Ses Fils" cardboard passe-partout with R. Dechavannes, Paris, Depose (registration mark for the passe-partout itself). The pass-partout is 8 x 6-3/8 inches. The Lumiere studio often used these pass-partouts for their work, although not exclusively.

Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges.
