| Description: A charming vine-covered gatehouse situated along the Boulevard Serurier. This street sign, attached to the upper right hand corner of the building, is clearly visible. The canal runs to the left. The building takes on the appearance of a cozy cottage with its rustic fence and two interwoven trees forming an arch over the entrance to the house. Titled and numbered in pencil in Atget's hand on verso. See: Nesbit, Atget's Seven Albums, Fortifications de Paris, pl.17 and Beaumont -Malillet, et al, Atget Paris, p.757. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges. |
