| Description: The film showing is Une Histoire d'Amour, the famed French actor Louis Jouvet's last film. He died later that same year. The Palais Berlitz, which is near the Paris Opera, is an historically important cinema theater. It was also the scene of a controversial antisemitic exhibition funded by the Nazi occupying forces in 1941 and administered by French bureaucrat-enthusiasts. The building was also the original home of the Berlitz School of Languages, as can be seen in the photograph. With photographer's stamp on recto of mount. Negative number and title in ink on recto of mount. Exhibited in the Museum of Photographic Arts' (San Diego, CA) show "Paris: A Century in the City of Light". Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania and New York buyers must pay appropriate sales tax. International clients are responsible for their VAT and other custom's oriented charges. |
