Title "Temple at Tumal, Lew Chew" printed on recto mount. Also in recto margins "Drawn from Nature by Heme, Figures by Brown" and "Ackerman Lith, 379 Broadway, N.Y." E. Brown, Jr. actually drew his own portrait with camera in Okinawa in this lithograph. Brown was the daguerreotypist on the Perry expedition, and this print appears in the scarce Narative of the Expedition of an American Squadron to the China Seas and Japan.
