About This Image

Photograph is dated "8 Octobre 1858" on the recto of the mount in the lower righthand corner. The name "E. Rochedreu" is after the date, but it could be just the photograph's owner or some other designation. There is also a very light stamp on the verso of the mount that reads: "J. F. Doré". The latter could be the English publisher J. F. Dore.Perini worked in salt, albumenized salt, and albumen prints and stereos. He photographed the architecture and topography of Italy, specifically Venice.
