About This Image

A typical modernist view of a side of a Roman building, which has been reduced to almost an abstraction.Chauffourier had in his possession many of the negatives of DeBonis and other earlier photographers. See: Jacobson, Etude d'Apres Nature, for more information on Chauffourrier. Chauffourier's work is extremely modern in style, focusing on architectural detail rather than the broader sweeping views of the Italian photography of the day. His slightly off-kelter framing and cropping distinguish his work from his contemporaries and place him with more modern image makers.

Most U.S. domestic Fed Ex ground shipping (Media Mail for books) is free of charge except for larger and heavier items, or unless the buyer wants express shipping (email us your requests for the latter).
