Signed and dated on recto of print. Photographer label with title, date, process, etc. on verso of mount.Jozef Emiel Borrenbergen (1884-1966) worked and in lived at the port of Antwerp. He was an influential photographer in the Iris photoclub of Antwerp. He went through nearly all important developments in photography since the turn of the century and was always able to adapt himself. He was the editor of the magazine "Fotokunst" from 1924 until 1939. He was the president of the Photographic Circle IRIS in Antwerp for many years.His work was represented at nearly all important photographic salons between 1912 and 1960. He worked in bromoil, medio-bromine and bromide. There is a publication on him: Pool Andries, Jozef Emiel Borrenbergen, Fotograaf, 1884-1966, 1984, Museum voor Fotografie, Antwerp. There is also a short biography on him in the new book, "The History of European Photography 1900–1938" published by the Central European House of Photography.See: Photograms of the Year, 1924. Has exhibition labels and stamps from London and Seattle in 1924 and Cannes in 1932.
